PAHRC has numerous images of churches, religious persons, events and places relating to the history of the Archdiocese.

Although not comprehensive, researchers can view lists of miscellaneous religious images as well as church images that the Archives has in its collection.

The Robert and Teresa Halvey Photograph Collection (1935-1999)

The photographs that Bob Halvey took from his high school days at Roman Catholic High School to his work for the Catholic Standard & Times are housed at PAHRC. They span from the years 1935 to 1999. Researchers will find a wide variety of subjects from alumni reunions to a visit from the Pope, from royalty to the homeless, from processions to protests, from the Cardinals to the Phillies. Highlights include photographs of Catholic hierarchy such as Pope John Paul II’s visit to Philadelphia in 1979. The collection documents Catholic life in Philadelphia, with photos depicting Sunday Mass, Catholic schools, ordinations, and seminary life. Other photos that stand out are his sports images.

The images section is currently under construction. If there is an image that you would like to have researched, please contact us at pahrc89@gmail.com, or call 610-667-2125.
